Music Workshop.

The finals are here! How's it coming along so far? Good, I hope. Anywaay, here's something exciting for you! This holidays, instead of spending your time doing things yang tidak berfaedah, why don't you (yes, YOU) join the SMKDJCF Music Workshop? Not only will it be fun bonding with your mates, you'll get to learn a whole lot through it too and of course, here's an opportunity to grow closer to Him :) ! Here are the details :-

WORSHIP WORKSHOP!

Love to play instruments?

Love to sing?

Love to worship God?

Then, this is the right opportunity for you! The Worship Department of CF SMKDJ will be having a workshop in the second week of the December holidays; 7^th (Mon) to 10^th December (Fri) 2009! Below are questions that may arise in your head as you see this:

What is the objective of this workshop?

• To raise up new leaders and instrument players!
• To tighten the bond between CF-ers!
• To improve your playing skills!
• To realize your passion to serve Christ through worship!

So, how does this workshop... work?

• First, choose an instrument: acoustic guitar, electric guitar, keyboard, bass, tambourines
• The workshop for the instrument you choose will be held on one of the days mentioned above (7^th – 10^th Dec). There will be a mentor for each workshop.
• On the 11^th December (Friday), there will be a full band session where everyone will get the chance to play in a full worship team!

Wait.. what about worship leading?

• There will be a workshop about worship leading led by someone veeerrrrry special on the 11^th December (Friday), before the full band session!

Where? When? What time?

• Acoustic guitar (7^th Dec Monday, 9.30am – 1.30pm)
• Electric guitar (8^th Dec Tuesday, 9.30am – 1.30pm)
• Keyboard (9^th Dec Wednesday, 9.30am – 1.30pm)
• Bass (10^th Dec Thursday, 9.30am – 1.30pm)
• Tambourines (10^th Dec Thursday, 9.30am – 1.30pm)
• Worship Leading (11^th Dec Friday, 11.00am – 1.00pm)
• Drums – there is no workshop for drums! We are terribly sorry. However, those who CAN ALREADY play drums can sign up as well, and you will be required to come on the 11^th December for the full band session.
• Full band session (11^th Dec Friday, 2.00pm – 6.00pm)
• Where? Details about the venue will be sent out through email/phone ONCE you sign up!

Do I need to bring my own instrument?

• Why yes! Of course. However, if you do not own the instrument that you picked, you are still very much welcomed to sign up, but you will most probably have to resort to sharing the instrument with another person.
• If you want to avoid the share-with-another-person situation but DON’T own the instrument, you can contact one of us to seek help!

Should I sign up? How? Where?

• Yes.
• Fill up your name, class, hand phone number and email in the paper on the CF notice board!

Any extra details?

• Do be aware that signing up for this workshop DOES NOT mean you are signing up for the CF Worship Department!
• You should sign up if, and only if you DO have the heart and passion to serve God through worship. “But I’m not very good at anything! “ you exclaim. That, can be worked on through hard work and perseverance.
• “Will this workshop benefit me?” you ask. Well, only YOU can make the best out of it. So ask yourself. (But yes it is beneficial also la.. You’ll definitely learn new stuff.)

Christ Troopers Listen Up.

• No CF Meeting this friday (4th september).
• Last Official CF Meeting 2009 would be held next friday (11th september).
• We're ending our last official meeting with a BANG.
• Troopers are advised to brace selves, set our hearts straight and pray hard for a meaningful last official meeting of CF 2009.
• Troopers must come ready. Fully equipped with respective six packs, a few pens and of course, a blinding Trooper smile. :D
  
• No, we're not partying this coming friday.
• Instead, we would be partying at CHRISTMAS PARTY 2009!
• Last but not least, Troopers should inform other Troopers about all the above.

All For A Good Cause

Dear CFers. As announced during the previous CF meeting, we are having a baking session.
Actually, we're having 4 bake offs which are all going to be headed by 4 different seniors at 4 different centres, and very much so, 4 different days of the week.

so to those of you baking enthusiasts who've already signed up, you can be sure that you're in for a wonderful time of slaving over the HOT kitchen stove fellowship over baking cookies. :)

but to those of you who were equally as enthusiastic, but just couldn't reach for the pen buried deep under the big rugby team of friends, FEAR NOT. we can sure use all the help we can get. just get in touch with one of the seniors eg, tian xi, ken vyn, ry-ann, or elena.

All in all, do not let your excitement for this event make you lose sight of the objective of this CF Baking Session 09.
