Prayer Meetings

Hello! To the afternoon sessioners, prayer meeting is now in session! =D *pun not intended* To the form 1's, I guess this might be new to you. It's a time where a group of people, (namely you guys) gather to pray and share the Word of God with one another. Share your testimonies etc. And don't worry, you'll have 2 awesome people who will guide you who is Alycia Tan, your Cf president and Andrew Foong, Cf vice president. So form 2's and form 1's!

The new year

Wow, it's 2012. A new year full of new experience to fill our memories, nice or just plain rotten. Wasn't it only a month ago when Christmas decorations were hung up to lit the skies and the tunes of Santa and Jesus filled up the air. Now, all I hear is "GONG XI FA CAI!" Hard to believe that Chinese New Year is coming too soon.

And as many of us brace for what 2012 will bring forth into our lives, I'm sure fear/stress must have hit us somehow or rather. Some of us may wonder how we might be able to cope with all the activities we are taking up or even how we might be able to balance between the mental, emotional and physical demands of life. And all we want to do is say to Life "GIVE ME A BREAK WILL YA! AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!" before you may reach the pinnacle of craziness.

Fortunately, God can provide special strength for us - just as He did for Elijah. In 1 Kings 18: 41- 19:8 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Kings%2018:%2041%20-%2019:8&version=NLT), after Elijah's showdown with Baal, Elijah executed 450 false prophets. He then climbed Mount Carmel and prayed for the ened of a 3-year drought (1 Kings 18:1) . That's when "the Lord gave special strength to Elijah" (1 Kings 18:46). This strength enabled Elijah to run all the way to Jezreel, about 25 miles away.

And if you see in 1 Kings 19:4, Elijah prays:

"I have had enough, Lord,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.”

God knows our limits. He is God after all. And He can supply strength in any way He chooses. From words of encouragement, ministry help or guidance from the Holy Spirit. I don't know. In Elijah's case, God sent an angel to provide with bread and water - twice.

Also, it is important to pray to God and cast our anxieties unto the Lord. To surrender our worries and lay our worrisome woes at the cross. To basically, trust God.

God provided strength for Elijah's ministry demands. Even David found strength in God in Psalm 18: 1-6.(http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm%2018:1-6&version=NLT) Personally, God has in many ways strengthen me whether I was anxious or even tired.

God can sustain us as we help others - with strength to spare.

CF Christmas Party 2011!

At 7.00 p.m. on 16th December 2011, something happened. An amazing event was held, to be precise. It was so awesome, that it was supposed to be in the TIME magazine (but due to unforeseen circumstances, it was taken off ) , it practically shook the Earth, it almost shifted the Earth's axis, it almost killed off Chuck Norris, it almost halt global warming , it had stopped all wars on Earth and it made the act of defying whatever you can possibly think of possible!

Naaaah, none of those stuff could have happened. DJCF Christmas party happened, but hey, it was still awesome!

The party was to start at 7pm but some of us came early to set the place up. Some were decorating the living room with strings of red and blue lights, courtesy of Samantha and some were sprucing up the area, shifting the chairs and well, you get the gist of it.

As the sun sets, darling Cf-ers started arriving with all smiles and of course a present for our Exchange gifts activity.

We placed all our presents under the Christmas tree! =D

This was how it was like before the party. Oh and you see that television? We were using Yi Qian's magical television of wonders to screen the lyrics of Christmas carol songs we were going to sing later that night.

Soon enough, more people started arriving, and everyone was bonding so well, that we didn't even need icebreakers to warm things up! =)

The committee brought lots of foods! Pizza, smores! Oh wow, in fact, we had 2 types of mash potatoes served on our table! One was with raisins and the other with egg. I'll stop naming all the food that was there now, or I'll make you readers really hungry! =) But before we could insert delicious food into our mouths, we started the night with a word of prayer.

MAKAN TIME!

One of the best parts of our Christmas party this year, was that DJCF-ers weren't the only people present at the party; we also had DUCF-ers, Tmn SEA CF-ers and even juniors who aren't even in Form 1 yet! It was such a delight having them join us! Also, like every year, we also had a number of our beloved ex CF-ers who took their time off to come for this party. It was so heartwarming to see people of different ages and backgrounds bonding with one another all under one roof! =') Truly, we have God to thank for that wonderful night of fellowship!

Then next, came the time for CAROLING led by Alycia, James and Ken Vyn! =)We started off with the song "Silent Night"- indeed, all of us had to keep silent for a moment to focus our attention on God after about 2 hours of fellowshipping with one another. Yi Qian's magical TV of wonders came in very handy for those of us who didn't know the lyrics, until it hung while we were halfway singing. But hey, we didn't let that stop us from singing to God! So we went on singing more carols, such as "Angels We Have Heard On High", "O' Come All Ye Faithful", "O' Holy Night" and "Feliz Navidad".

Alycia also shared something briefly with us during our session of caroling. Her message was basically this; God gave us the GREATEST GIFT anyone could ever ask for, His one and only Son, Jesus Christ. Sometimes, when we face struggles in life, we may tend to wonder, "How can they say that God gave us the greatest gift, when I'm facing so many problems in my life and not even enjoying this gift? How can they say that God loves me?" Well, here's a reminder to all who ask this question. Remember, that no matter what we go through in life, God still loves us and will NEVER stop loving us- rather, it is we who are often too caught up in our struggles that we tend to miss out on God's endless love for us. Remember this guys, whenever you're facing hard times. =)

We ended our caroling session by going around, shaking everyone's hands/ hugging one another, wishing them 'Merry Christmas' while singing "We wish you a Merry Christmas". All of us also received cute beautifully decorated Christmas cards done by our lovely Cf-ers (special thanks to Isabel and Karina!). THANKIEW!!

After much singing ~~and annoying the neighbors ( naaah, we didn't, well I hope not)~~ we resumed our previous activities, talking and playing games!

I think that all of us were somewhat high that night. Honestly, and no it wasn't drugs. It was something much more addictive than that.

Of course, it was expected *hehehehe* I shall be posting about the party soon enough! Anyway, here is a devo. that I would like to share with you guys and why a devo again? God’s Discipline Proves His Love
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. What criticism do you need to reconsider? How can you determine which aspects are true? What is good criticism and what is bad criticism?
In The Last Lecture, Professor Randy Pausch described a particularly bad day when his hardnosed football coach yelled at him and made him do push-ups for messing up some moves. Afterward, an assistant coach helped Randy put his bad practice in perspective. “Coach Graham worked you pretty hard, didn’t he?” the coach asked. Then he continued, “That’s a good thing. When you’re messing up and nobody says anything to you anymore, that means they’ve given up on you.”

Being berated by a boss is one of life’s most painful experiences, which is why Randy remembered it when he wrote his memoir. We instinctively duck and deflect, focusing on their anger issues rather than whether there is any truth in what they’re saying. How dare they treat me like that! we fume. Yet we miss an opportunity to consider their criticism and grow as a person.

Nobody likes to be told they’re doing something wrong, but it’s the only way we ever improve. Regardless of motives or manners, our critics can be our friends. So rather than defend ourselves by pointing out a critic’s flaws, we must consider the possibility that elements of the criticism we received could be true. If we determine that we have been lazy, careless, or unkind, we must repent. We can pray, “Lord, I’m sorry for my sin. I was wrong and out of line. Yet today, with Your help, I choose to be diligent, disciplined, and to value the feelings of others more than myself.”

God accepts us just as we are, but He loves us too much to allow us to stay that way. He challenges us in areas that need improvement, and sometimes He uses our critics to get His point across. Take heart when you receive valuable criticism, for though it means you messed up, it also means God still believes in you.

Hello! Remember bout the girl Summer I told you guys in the previous post?? Well, here is her testimony! But before that let me tell you a lil bit bout her *this is for the people who have not read the previous post ( cause I know you guys lazy to scroll down. Heh =D ) *=)

She is from DU, yes she is a Du-rian~ =) . I met her at NSCFL, a cute girl she is and she so happens to be the person in charge of the DUCF blog. Awesome isn't it? The DUCF blog link is on the left column btw. Go read it up, the blog is an awesome read. So moving on, this is her testimony from NSCFl camp. =)

The testimony of Summer

So what did I learn in camp? hmmmmmmm, well there's just so much I have learnt in 6 days! There was macro and micro planning, learning how to plan a cf/yf meeting much more accurately. And I also found my spiritual gift! I think if you ask everyone in NSCFL they'll probably all say the same thing, which is: 'camp was awesome!' or 'ohh I made a lot of new friends in camp' or 'the Word in camp really hyped me up! I can't wait to serve God in cf/yf!'.

Then we go back and do nothing. So what I want to share with everyone is this: just cause we went to a camp and came back doesn't mean we're perfect. We shouldn't just let whatever we have learnt in camp STAY in camp. We should bring whatever we've learn into practice. Don't be afraid to share His Word.

Those of us who went with our cf/yf, remember to always be there for one another. Support each other and always stay strong in the Word of God.

Risky Business

On some of the Christmas cards you will receive this year, no doubt there will be a man standing in the background looking over the shoulder of Mary, who is prominently displayed caring for the baby Jesus. His name is Joseph. And after the nativity narratives, he isn’t heard from much again. If we didn’t know better, we would think Joseph was an insignificant bystander or, at best, a mere necessity to undergird Jesus’ claim to the throne of David.

But, in fact, the role that Joseph played was strategically important. If he had disobeyed the angel’s command to take Mary as his wife (Matt. 1:20), he would have, from a human perspective, put the entire mission of Jesus at risk. Taking Mary as his wife was a risky assignment. Public perception that he was the baby’s father put him in serious violation of Jewish law and made him a public disgrace. Yet today all of us are thankful that he was willing to risk his reputation to participate in and facilitate God’s unfolding drama.

Most of us are insignificant compared to the major players in this world. But all of us are called to obey. Who knows what God has in store when we are willing to surrender to God’s will—even when it puts us at risk!

While we do His good will, He abides with us still,

It’s no small thing to trust and obey.

Everyone plays a part in God's plan. Even a small creature like the ant plays a part. Every part makes a difference! Even the panda who looks, honestly speaking, useless plays an important role for sure. For all you know, its poo fertilizes the soil for the bamboo plants....Seriously... SO YES, the point is, you are here for a reason so don't let yourself feel insignificant because that's a lie. =D

DECEMBER HAS ARRIVED!

Hi everyone! So have you thought of your answers for the questions posted in the previous post? Anyway, from the 21st to 26th November, a bunch of us Dj-ians went to a camp called NSCFl camp. I'm sure some of you have heard about it. It's a camp organised by Scripture Union. And the book that was focused on during the camp was Philippians. The theme was " GET, SET, GOD " and our games group names were named after famous Christian athletes.

The writer of Philippians is by none other than Paul. And the Philippians was written at the time he was at house arrest to well...the Philippians. =D

So anyway, this camp really taught me a lot. And so it has to everyone as well. Jia Min, a dear Cf-er has spent her time writing her testimony about her experience in NSCFL. So yes, here is a glimpse of the camp through her eyes. =D

The Camp To Remember

I’ve never been to NSCFL camp before. It’s my first time and I was feeling a little giddy and afraid being surrounded by hundreds over people. I was also very reluctant to leave my comfy bed at first but looking back now, I have totally no regrets signing up for camp. Everything in camp was great. The people were warm and nice, the campsite has a natural-ish feel, you can see the clear blue sky in the morning and the stars shining at night. I am blessed with a very friendly roommate and also getting to be part of a very sporting and noisy group – Kaka.

The people in my group was extremely nice, especially my group leader, Emily, who took unpaid leave to be at camp to take care of us. She was a great listener and guided us throughout camp. She was also very open with sharing her life with us, she even bought us Seremban Siew Pau! We simply love to eat. Every morning during quiet time and every night during post mortem, all you can see, is us, EATING. The activities in camp benefited me a lot. For the workshops, I signed up for worship and peer counselling.

I learnt a lot from the worship workshop, led by Patrick Leong. His singing was splendid. He not only taught us what we should prepare mentally as a worship leader, he also gave us a chance to worship in a random band during practical sessions. Besides gaining more knowledge about worshipping and music, I also learnt how to coordinate and respect each other in this workshop.

The one part of camp that touched me the most was prayer and fasting. I’ve never been fasting in my whole entire life. Even in this short 5 hours, I’ve learnt so much! The station ( there were 5 stations that we could choose to go. For a few hours, we couldn't talk to anyone but just fast, pray and basically have quiet time with God ) that got us all in tears was the one where everyone can take a stone, think about all the burdens, pray, and leave the stone together with all our burdens before the cross. I wept as I was kneeling down before the cross, and I walked out of the room weight-free. And for that instant, I felt so relieved.

In Matthew 11:28, Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.’ Such a precious affirmation and promise for all of us, but why is it that we don’t seek for God first in hard and happy times? And that led me to the next station, we were showed a video about the gift of worship, and it really struck me. What is your motive when you worship God? I sat in the hall and watched the video again and again for more than 8 times. I am a worship leader, but sometimes I still do question myself, why am I worshipping?

The video was like a wake-up call for me, slapping me in the face, telling me it’s time to put God first in everything I do. In the video it says, Worship is a huge thing. We look forward to worship each week. When the music includes one of our favourites, we say, "The worship was great!" When the music stinks, we yawn and wonder why the worship wasn't very good. We leave churches because of the "worship style".

Have you ever wondered why we're more concerned with what worship does for us and less concerned with the object of our worship? It seems like it's more about what we GET not what we GIVE. It would be like taking a gift to a friend's birthday party, but keeping it for ourselves.

Worship is all about GIVING our lives to God. Worship is not about the feelings we receive when we sing. Worship is not about convincing God to bless us. Worship is not about whether or not the guitar is too loud. Worship is not about what's happening on the stage. Worship is not about entertainment, lighting, or sound.

Worship is not about us at all. IT'S NOT ABOUT US. It's about Him.

And we enter through the gateway of the cross.

At the cross, we surrender love cry dream give up shut up kneel confess

We look at God, and place Him above all else because He is worth it! Life gets crazy and painful. No one can deny that. JOB STRESS DIVORCE DEATH ADDICTIONS PARENTING LONELINESS

No one is asking you to pretend that those things aren't affecting you. You're just being invited to bring that stuff to the cross, and to simply gaze at Jesus. And as you look at Him, allow your response to be worship

Besides growing up and being more mature spiritually, I made a lot of friends and had so much fun. DJ-ians have been really encouraging, feels like it is God’s calling that I should join CF next year. I’ve been swaying around in other curriculum activities for three years, feels like it’s time to go home now. I pray that everyone who joined NSCFL this year and those who benefited from it will bring the knowledge back to their respective CF’s and YF’s to serve God better and to glorify God’s name. I also hope the bonds and friendship between the campers will not be just a 6 days thing, but will grow stronger as we grow up together as brothers and sisters in Christ. For those who didn’t join this year, I urge you to join next year! Toodeloos!

Goodness, here comes December

HELLO! So since it's going to be December, let's ponder on some questions!

First of, have you achieved your goals which you have always wanted to achieve in this 2011? More importantly, is your relationship with God currently how you want it to be?
Have your attitude been changed for the better? Have you been improving yourself?

All these questions are mind-boggling isn't it. But all I'm saying is that December seemed so far away when we were at January. But now, it's already here. Surely you wish that time doesn't have wings so that it can't fly but it's too late.

We're not getting any younger. In conclusion, here's my last question to you, "What are you going to do now?"

Yes, as the title says, we will be having our CF christmas party! So before I go on any further, here are the important details of the party. It's

I assure you that this party will be TONS of fun! Notice how I use the word 'WILL' and not 'COULD' or 'SHALL'. Yep, seeing as how confident I am to use the word 'WILL' that the party WILL be awesome and fun, I know that you're going to enjoy attending the party as much as I did in previous years.

This party offers you:

1. Awesome food

2. Awesome games.

3. CAROLING ( caroling is awesome ok. A chance to sing out loud without other people hearing

your voice. Heh)

4. Fellowship! ( a time of berbonding-bonding, catching up with the seniors who have left school,

getting to know people in CF that you haven't talked to and just tightening the

friendship between you and your friends, hey, what's not to love? )

About food, your food shall be provided by the CF committee. =D Yes, awesome isn't it to get free food. Hehehe, but since the food provided is via the pot bless system and there are only 14 people in the committee, we're afraid that we can't feed your hungry bellies and fatten you up so it'd be great if you could bring some food too.

If you wish to do so,

please inform any person in the committee

comment on the post telling us who you are (hahaha, of course) and what you would like to bring

So that we'd know how much food there would be on the table. (we don't want you to waste your money if we already have a lot of food coming in)

Also, we will also be EXCHANGING PREZZIES! And by that I don't mean exchanging the Cf presidents. =P So do you have to bring a present to the party? Why, YES you do.

And so, this is how the system works for those who aren't sure of what this is about.

Eg,

Person J brings gift. Any gift for that matter.

Person goes to party.

Person puts gift under Christmas tree.

After a fun-filled night, person has to go home.

Before person's hands reaches the doorknob, person's hands must first reach a present under the tree.

So yes, do bring a present and you'll get a mystery gift in return. ^___^ Everyone is happy.

Everyone is invited. And, you can also invite your friend even if they aren't part of CF.

EXPIRED MILK PEOPLE, or should I say very old seniors. HEHEHEHE, YOU"RE INVITED TOOO! WE MISS YOU SO DO COME BACK! And being expired milk is cool, you transform into Yogurt! Which is much tastier than Milk for that matter.

After 2 months

Y-ELOOOOWW!!! Yeah, super duper happy cause exams over. =D Except for the form 5's though. Heh heh, soreee seniors. But anyway, yes, it has been apporximately 2 months since the last post and you guys surely have been wondering "GASP, what's taking so long!" Well, speaking of exams, I have a testimony to share with you guys.
It all started a month agoooo *background slowly changes to past*

I was going to school, like Piglet here in the picture. Actually, I never knew he...er...IT went to school but anyways, everything was as its usual self UNTIL

My nose became runny! Runny noses are uber annoying. And as always, MR. Runny nose will fire a flare signal to invite Mr Cough. Usually, coughs are suppose to bid you farewell after a week tops but noooo, Mr Cough enjoyed his stay and decided to hang around with Mr Runny for another week. And Mr Cough didn't even pay for his stay!

Oh wait, it did. He paid using his Master Annoyance Credit card and introduced all kinds of funny bacteria that really made a mess. So, in total, my cough lasted for a month because Mr Cough wanted to stay again. Yes, to hang out with Mr Runny. Don't those two know when to stop? Geeez.

And if a cough lasts for a month, it's dead SERIOUS. It may lead to bronchitis or other diseases. So when I went to visit the doctor, I was told that I had bronchitis!? This made me EXTREMELY SCARED. I mean, who wants your bronchus to be INFLAMED??? Unless, you do, well then...I respect your decision. I never expected to have Bronchitis at all. Learnt it in Science, but I thought that it'll just stay in the books and not be in ME.

So, being extremely terrified, I prayed. But somehow, the cough still stayed. Later on, I soon became worried that I may be having some other disease like Cancer or suddenly have breathing problems and I'd be rushed to the hospital.

And all this was during the midst of exams. Thank God for it actually because exams really took my mind of my problem. No matter how much I pray, the cough won't go away. (woah, I just ryhmed) Mr Cough haunts me everyday saying the same old thing, "Sorry, but I really like it here. Can I stay for just one more week??" *GASP, NOOOOO!!!* It's like God isn't answering my prayers at all. I know He's listening, but it's taking a really long time. So how long do I have to wait? I was even considering the fact that I may actually have cancer, and maybe God would use me as a "cancer patient" to inspire people but still, I really didn't want to have cancer or any other diseases in fact.

So, after much anxiety that have probably killed me days ago, I went to see a specialist. And guess what? Me got no Bronchitis! YES!! Probably my bronchitis healed from medication but whatever it is, I was really relieved that I don't have anything that serious. And I found out about it on the last day of exam, so yea, uber happiness here. Pheeewww

I guess you can kinda figure what the moral of the story is and I bet you've heard plenty of it. Whatever you're praying for, just keep praying. Of course not the evil stuff lar. But anyway, God will be listening to your prayers.And even if God says NO to your prayer, He'll give you a BETTER YES! It's all in God's timing. Put it this way, God knows the END from the BEGINNING, so we can TRUST HIM with everything in between.

In Peter 1:5-7, it says "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you"

It's kinda hard to consistenly pray for something sometimes because it seems that God's not listening or not answer your prayer. But we should trust God in His decisions and remember, God will answer your prayer with either a YES or NO. But if He says NO, He'll give you a BETTER YES.

So jst keep praying, praying, praying

We All Get Angry

Hellooooo! How are your studies coming up?? =O *jeng jeng jeeeeennggg* Woah, wait the minute! What are you doing? Don't click on another tab yet buster before reading this awesome article written yet by another Cf-er. =D

We all get angry. Angry, mad, frustrated, furious, irritated, annoyed, exasperated, ireful. Sometimes, we keep in all the anger that we feel, no matter how maddening it can get. & sometimes, when people ask you why you’ve been so quiet & down lately, it all comes out. Everything you’ve been keeping in about that irritating someone/something just comes out. We tend to blurt out what we think, good or bad (mostly bad in this case) to whoever asks, to whoever SEEMS concerned.

Recently, I had gone through something like this. It had been going on for a year – dealing with someone who just wouldn’t stop GOING ON about her problems & her life & what she had to ‘suffer’ everyday, when there was really nothing wrong. She was just over thinking everything, blaming those around her for her problems & making a mountain out of a molehill. I had tried to be patient over the year but I had had ENOUGH by now.

About a week ago, she called me & just went ON & ON about how certain things weren’t her fault, & why was everyone being so unfair, etc. Every time I tried to tell her something, she would interrupt me with another complaint. -_-

I was really REALLY TRYING HARD not to yell, but in the end I did, I yelled some hurtful things & I simply hung up without giving her a chance to answer. Although I was fuming, I was still thinking if I had done the right thing. I wasn’t sure, so when I opened the Bible I found the answer.

Psalm 4:4-5 says “When you are angry do not sin, think about these things quietly as you go to bed. Do what is right as a sacrifice to the Lord & trust the Lord.”

Looking back on the past year, realising I had done the totally WRONG thing by gossiping about this person with others & yelling at her. As Christians, we have to be patient & thoughtful & fair. Although this person definitely hadn’t given me the easiest time, what I SHOULD’VE done (instead of gossiping & all that) was to think about things carefully, control my emotions, pray about it, & trust what God was going to do.

Because even if that’s really hard, as a Christian, we have to do what is right as a sacrifice to the Lord.

When It Was Time To Leave

Hello!! How are you holidays coming up so far? =D Anyway, this post is dedicated to an awesome teacher who retired last Friday. And she's not just any teacher, but our beloved Cf teacher, namely Pn Saik. =(

She has served faithfully throughout all these years with much compassion and love to her students. She somehow manages to smile everyday, which is wonder honestly, cause even I can't do that, with the teaching and the stress..Arrrgghh. But this teacher always manages to pull through.

There were performances, students giving gifts to Pn Saik, speeches by Encik Azmuddin and Timothy Sim our ex CF president and of course the grand speech given by Pn Saik herself.

After all has ended, it was time for her to walk to the car park where she will find a mystery car before her to send her off.

Yup, Pn Saik sure does look like a model here. So at the car park awaited a black mini cooper. Students followed the mini cooper as it took Pn Saik further away from the school slowly. Oh my goodness, this sounds like a total kidnap. =P

YES, that mini cooper kidnapped our beloved Pn Saik!!

hahahahha, anyway, Pn Saik is a very wonderful, awesome, dedicated teacher and has truly impacted many lives with her compassion, kindness and wondrous smile.

THANK YOU PN SAIK FOR ALL YOU"VE DONE FOR US and we hope that you'll have a blast travelling round the world and in whatever you plan to do. =D

HELLO EVERYONE!!! HOW ARE YOU ALL DOIN??? To the form 3 and form 5 students happening to be reading this now, eh...shouldn't you be studying?? But IT"S OK, surely you can spare some time reading this article that a wonderful CF-er decided to write for the CF blog. =D

I AM

When you hear a familiar voice calling out to you, what would your first reaction be? To turn to the source of the voice, perhaps. But there’s an infinitesimal second in between the calling of your name and your immediate turning reaction where your brain works out the appearance of that somebody from memory.

When you come to think of it, it’s actually much like a puzzle. Their most striking feature appears first, it could be their eyes, or their smile, maybe even their hair. Then slowly, it is matched up with their other parts. It is then when their personality comes into play. Your brain works like CODIS- a special forensic computer application-, connecting the name to their appearance and the to their personality. By the time you turn around, you’d know exactly who the person is.

But what happens when your memory fails you? When names and faces can’t seem to find a match. A forensic team would search the missing persons unit. Our brains however, in this case, don’t seem to have technology of that sort. We can run our inner CODIS all we want, but all we’re going to get is a red, blinking “no match” sign. What we’ll be left with is a puzzled expression to fit our unsolved puzzle. How then would we react to a greeting from the other party? What do we say when our children innocently ask about our connections with that stranger? This was a situation I was for too familiar with. I have early- onset A. D.

Early-onset A.D. is one of the causes of dementia. Being diagnosed with it didn’t really come as a shock for me, I had it coming. My siblings and I were warned about it because our grandmother had it too. I guess I was just the unlucky one.

In the later stages of my Alzheimer’s disease, names and faces were all but a blur. I would spend most days just sitting and staring into space. I knew it wasn’t long before the rest of my body would fail me just like my brain had. Despite my conduction, there was one thing I always remembered. It would play in my head like a broken record. It was an unsung tune that I would fall asleep to. Most days, it’d be the only thing I’d think of…

You’d think that it’d be something big, something like fireworks on New Year’s Day. To most people, it’s merely two of the most common words in everyday life. To me, it meant the world.

“I AM”

Just two words can cause such a stir of emotions. To some it may bring about fear, pride,resentment, joy, relief, but to me it brought comfort. I would close my eyes and place myself in the shoes of the disciples on that stormy night in Matthew 14:22-33. Physically, I’d be in my comfy ol’ rocking chair, but my mind would be there, in that small boat. Hush… I think I can hear the whistling sound of the wind, can you?

After the Lord miraculously fed the 5000 men with five loaves of bread and two fishes, He told us to get into a boat and travel ahead of Him to the other side, while He dismissed the crowd. So we did as we were told and set sail without our Master.

Everything was smooth sailing and we were having a good time chatting on the boat until suddenly, a bolt of lightning flashed across the moonlit sky followed by the booming sound of thunder. Dark clouds hovered above our heads, concealing the stars that once like a compass, pointed the way to our destination. Strong winds blew with a howl accompanied by the rustling of leaves from trees that surrounded the lake. The billows that tossed the boat vigorously and the pelting rain started to fill the boat with water.

As fishermen, most of us were familiar with storms. They normally cleared up after an hour or so. This raging tempest however, showed no signs of dying down. The storm had caused a pandemonium on the boat. Not only were we hit by the crashing waves, but also by a surge of panic. Judging by the looks of distress on everyone’s faces, I knew we had the same thought in mind: we were going to die.

It was 3 o’ clock in the morning and the storm still had not cleared. Just then, we saw an indistinct figure walking towards us from a distance.

I felt a sudden chill run down my spine as the hairs on the hands stood on its ends. Filled with trepidation, I yelled “IT’S A GHOST!” My heart raced, my face was pallid, never in my life have I been this terrified. We huddled together on the rear end of the boat and said our final words, preparing for the worst.

Then, a familiar voice, deep and calm said, “Take courage! I AM. Don’t be afraid.” At once, we turned to the “ghost” and knew who it was.

On hindsight, the way the disciples reacted may have seemed irrational. But when I put myself in their shoes, I knew I would’ve reacted similarly. Even as I stared this huge storm- my condition- in the eye, I was overwhelmed by waves of panic. Everyday when I awoke, it took some explaining from one of the nurses to help me realise where I was. Some days, I didn’t even know who I was. And then there were days where I forgot I had Alzheimer’s.

The doctors told me that my days were numbered and my children were prepared for the worst. Yet, all I could do was sit in my rocking chair and let my mind wander. Though I had no way of expressing it, I was scared. In fact, I still am. The mist at that point had grown so thick that no matter how hard I squinted, my eyes simply couldn’t penetrate through it to recognise the indistinct figure in the distance.

Just when I thought I had lost all sense of direction and hope, a voice, deep and calm called out to me, “Take courage! I AM. Don’t be afraid.” For the first time in a long time, my inner CODIS found a match to that voice and I knew that no matter how much worse my condition got, I was safe and sound. The storm may have seemed so much bigger than He was, but I knew for a fact that He was in control.

I AM.

He wasn’t just anybody and He most definitely was not a ghost. He is the King of kings, the Lord of lords, the Alpha, Omega, Beginning and End. He is my Saviour, Messiah, Redeemer and Friend. He is The GREAT I AM.

Step Up Step Down 2011

So this was the day everyone was waiting for. The next president... The next vice... The next committee... All's revealed here. But obviously, the committee wasn't going to give the answer straight away. ;)

The poor seniors had to wait. Look how anxious they are!! :O

Even this guy went a bit loony o__o

Lookie, our Cf president (at that time) looking so happy. And Yi Qian giving that "ok, smile...heh heh...smile for the camera" look.

As usual, CF started with worship. Dang was worship leading that day. And if you don't know who he is, he's the loony guy you just saw. :P Worship was amazing that day, or so i felt. =D The CF-ers were jumping around, having a blessed time praising God!

*cough cough, another reason why you should come to Cf, cough cough =P*

Anyway, after worship and a short prayer, Samantha Cheh, our emcee for the day presented Pn. Saik, our beloved CF teacher advisor to give her speech. She was all dressed up for her very last CF meeting with us, looking very nice that day with this fancy-looking blue cheongsam. :) With all smiles as always, she started giving out words of advice, quoting bible verses and encouraging all of us to abide in the Word and grow in God. We're all going to miss you, Pn. Saik! :)

Then, the enjoyable performances we have every year commenced ~~just to prolong the time of announcing who the next committee is. Hahahhaha, you'll never know who the next committee is if you don't stick around!~~ to allow the CF-ers to unleash their talents and for those watching to be entertained! :D

The first one up was the oh most delicious band BLUEBERRY CHEESECAKE. Yum, yum. Rayshell Wong, Sam Koh and Christopher were singing Lady Antebellum's songs harmoniously that day while Boon Kuan, the only guitarist was strumming along! :) Their other member, Yi Fen was supposed to play that day, but due to unforeseen circumstances, she couldn't play. However, she has put in the same amount of effort as the other Blueberries, so hats off to her too!

The next performance was done by a very VERY cute bunch, namely the afternoon sessioners.

The one in Maju shirt was quite hyper that day.

You could see that the afternoon sessioners really put in a lot of effort in this play and that was what made it inspiring and also CUTE at the same time. Amazing part was, they did everything themselves, or the most crucial aspect which is the script-writing itself!!!

While this was going on,

Dear Sam here was giving out the senior cards that were to be a gift of appreciation from CF

Cassandra looks really intrigued with her card. "Hmmmmm, so this is what they think of me. Like that now lar. Hmph, all their attendance will be erased from the list"

And during these series of events, I had completely NO idea what these guys were doing. From what I get from this picture is that Jeremy is trying to show off his muscles with this dumb bell that looks really light and Christopher is like "HAR, YOU LOSER, I can do better than that." Meanwhile, Johanan is in the state that I am in now- wondering what's going on.

Anyway, reverting back to the performances,

After their amazing performance, next one up tries to reach a very high note. So what is the next performance.........

Why, it's the singing duo, James Lim and Deborah Wong! Such BEAUTIFUL voices they have! :) Just like the previous performances, these guys really put in a lot of effort, and their effort paid off. So much so,

It made this vice-president tear up.

She was tearing because of she was touched by all the performances she watched. :')

Everyone in this picture are all smiles, except Daniel maybe. He looks like he doesn't understand the performances. :P Long story short, this CF meeting was an enjoyable event. :)

Heh, look at Jun Wei!! He's scrounging his senior card! :O as if saying, "ROAR, who dares make this senior card for me!" :P

Dang on the other hand (guy on right) looks like he's never seen a camera before. Hmmm, intrigued. ;)

When the singing performance ended, the performance was NOT OVER YET!!! Out of nowhere, the afternoon sessioners brought these really HUGE card just for the presidents, Timothy, Heidy and Amanda.

The pressies showing off their very colorful cards. They were very, very touched by the love shown by the Afternoon Sessioners. :) Such a lovely bunch you guys are, Afternoon sessioners! :)

And then it was time for the FINALE!!! The moment everyone was waiting for. Without further ado, our emcee Samantha Cheh started off her magic announcing the faces of the new committee.

This new committee was downsized and so that explains why the committee is smaller now. Each year, it was tradition to give each other gifts on the stage and that was exactly what we did.

As minutes passed all the people in the old and new committee stood in lines at the stage. All but 2 !!!

As the everyone stepped forward, Pn Cheng urged and led the fellow CF-ers to pray for both the old and new CF committees as well as our teacher advisors.

Now that this huge suspense was over, this was the moment of a new beginning.

The very "serious" committee!!

Sadly, this is the last CF meeting we're ever going to have for this year.

But then again, we're unfolding a new chapter in our lives. And the committee will be busy squeezing their brain juice planning for the NEXT CF CAMP !! Can i hear a WOOT WOOT!!!

Although CF is over, prayer meetings isn't so come for prayer meetings!! It's a time when you can bond with your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ and grow together in Christ. =D

Anyway, hahahha, i didn't post who the new committee is in this post, but if you'll look to the right sidebar,oooh, what' this...... The names of the new committee are there!!!

Hello, world changers!

On the 9th of June 2011,

We will be heading to pay a visit to the refugee kids at a school on Jalan Union 4, which near Jalan Sentul (Jalan Ipoh area) KL.

The school is as much of a school as a school can be. This school is actually 1 of the 6 schools which come under an organization called CSO (Chin Students Organization) which was founded and run by refugees with the approval of the UNHCR.

These schools are run by the refugees themselves, with teachers teaching specific subjects like English, Maths and Science.NGO's support these schools financially. Each school has a principal, and teachers who are refugees themselves, the kids have midterm exams, holidays and finals too. The kids are always in need of new exercise books, stationary and things of that sort.

There are about 47 kids in total with 3 classes running at the moment.

The following is an announcement from Scripture Union Peninsular Malaysia.

In honour of the late Ms Rosie Cheah's contributions to the ministries of SU, the following categories of awards are available for eligible students.

a) Rosie Cheah BK Student Award

If you have taken the BK POstal Quiz for two consecutive years and attained the score of Highly Commendable, you are eligible for this award.

SU will select 10 students to receive this award. The award will comprise of :

- free admission to a SU Peninsular Malaysia camp. This camp will be held within the calendar year of the award, subject to availability of space. Transportations costs are not included in this award.

- a medal which will be issued at the camp.

Selected centre will receive a trophy and a special gift will be given to the advisor or coordinator of the quiz centre in October annually.

All SU decisions on the above awards are final.

School break is here & CF Camp is in 2 days :))
If you missed the Camp Briefing, here is the checklist of things to bring and what not to bring for the CF Camp 2011 :

Please bring with you :

1) Your humble and willing heart & mind to camp.
Come and yield yourself to the Lord's words. Be touched by the prayers, praises & worships.
Prepare your heart, mind & soul to receive His blessings. Remember to bless & encourage one another with His love throughout the camp days.

2) Bible, notebook, stationary
Take notes during devotions & sermon sessions. Receive the message from our Lord & Holy Spirit.

3) Suitable & decent "pleasing in the Lord's eyes" clothings for 4 days & 3 nights stay ie:
Lets dress to please the Lord and not wear clothes which reveal one's flesh indecently.

- Appropriate clothings for indoor & outdoor games.
Ladies, please wear decent track pants & dark tees. NO spaghetti strap tops & tubes and NO shorts or pants which are too short & revealing.

- Appropriate clothings during all sessions in the hall and at all times during the camp.
Keep the Lord in mind when we clothe ourselves daily. Let it be pleasing in the eyes of our Lord.
Ladies - NO mini skirts, short pants, tubes, spaghetti strap tops, mini dresses, halter tops.

- Costume for the special nite event - Theme : Your favourite cartoon character.
Your costume must reflect 3 characteristics of your favourite cartoon character.

4) Money - less than RM60 for tuckshop purchases, emergencies including RM25 for camp tee-shirt.

5) Blessings for ANGELS & MORTALS.
- Each of you will be an angel to a mortal. You are to BLESS your mortal with gifts, encouraging messages, positive actions without revealing your identity. Bless & be blessed in return. You can purchase your gifts from the CF Tuckshop at camp.

6) Water bottles - to prevent from being dehydrated

7) Watch / Alarm clock - keep track of time & be punctual at all times

8) Footwear - sports shoes(games), slippers & sandals

9) Plastic bags - keep your dirty laundry

10) Bath Towel

11) Torch light, insect repellant & umbrella

12) Mobile phone & cameras - these are brought at your own risk

Please do NOT bring :
1) Illegal items eg alcohol drinks, cigarettes, weapons, etc
2) Games - cards, board games, PSP
3) Magazines & Music gadgets - CDs, MP3, iPod, Discman, etc
4) Excessively valuable & expensive items & devices.
5) Cold & icy hearts that aren't using their left ventricle.

Please be warned that Camp Authorities reserve the right to send naughty, disobedient campers home.

CF will be selling delicious chewy flavored Konnyaku Jellies & sweet Icee Lollies at the Merentas Desa event this Saturday, Feb 26th 2011. This is another fundraiser event for CF Camp.

If you wish to help with the making & packing of these Konnyaku Jellies & Icee Lollies, please contact:

CF Camp : Fund Raising Event - Baking Project.

Hello CFers,

We are raising funds to fund the upcoming CF Camp.

One of the fund raising project was a Baking Project in conjunction with the Chinese New Year.

Jan 20th 2011: Baking Project

25 CFers gathered at 3 baking stations to bake glazed cupcakes, honey cornflakes cups, chocolate chip cookies and peanut cookies. The ingredients were fully sponsored by our supportive parents.

Many CFers dedicated their public holiday to a wonderful day of baking, food tasting and fellowship.

By God's grace, all of these delicious treats were purchased by families and friends for the Chinese New Year celebration. Funds were raised and channelled to the CF Camp.

My heartfelt gratitude to all of you who contributed their time, sweat, creativity, finances, laughters to the this Baking Project. Most of all, we give thanks to our Lord for His hands and guidance in making this a successful event.

Camp Fees : RM 190(Early Bird fee for full payment submitted before 18th Feb)

Here's a message from our dear President, Tim:

Hey everyone! If you're reading this, it means you've successfully survived the re-opening of school, and the beginning of 2011. Congratulations! :D

Welcome back to school! Don't complain. Have fun while you can, study hard, do your very best in everything you put your hand to (as long as whatever it is you put your hand to is within the law and our school rules :P) and Christians, glorify God in everything you do.

I'm sure we're all both excited and dreading the year at the same time. New class, new friends, old friends, sports, homeworkhomeworkhomework, clubs, societies and whatever else there is. For the Form 3's and us old form 5's, we are about the most academically terrifying years of our lives thus far. In everything you do though, remember to glorify God be it through your studies, sports, behaviour, and other co-curricular activities.

Anyway, again, WELCOME TO A NEW YEAR. And welcome back to an old school, for everyone form2 and up. Christians, don't be afraid to stick to your principles even when the going gets tough. Remember, it's easy to love someone who does you kindness. The character of a real Christian comes out when he or she can love someone who does them wrong the way God loves us. Time to start standing up and standing out, guys (girls too!). :D

Love to play instruments? Love to sing?

Love to worship God?

Then, this is the right opportunity for you! The Worship Department of CF SMKDJ will be having a workshop in the second week of the December holidays; 7th (Tues) to 10th December (Fri) 2010!

Below are questions that may arise in your head as you see this:
What is the objective of this workshop?
-To raise up new leaders and instrument players!
-To tighten the bond between CF-ers!
-To improve your instrument-playing skills!
-To realize your passion to serve Christ through worship!

So, how does this workshop... work?

First, choose an instrument: acoustic guitar, electric guitar, keyboard, bass, tambourines, or drums
The workshop for the instrument you choose will be held on one of the days mentioned above (7th – 10th Dec). There will be a mentor for each workshop.
On the 10th December (Friday), there will be a full band session where everyone will get the chance to play in a full worship team!
Wait.. what about WORSHIP LEADING? Oh, and VOCALS?
There will be a briefing about worship leading on the 10th December (Friday), before the full band session!
There won’t be any workshops for vocals, but we still do need sign ups as we need vocalists for 10th Dec, Friday when we have our full band session So, do feel free to sign up!

Drums (7th Dec Tuesday, 9.30am – 1.30pm)
Bass (7th Dec Tuesday, 2.30pm – 6.30pm)

Why yes! Of course. However, if you do not own the instrument that you picked, you are still very much welcomed to sign up, but you will most probably have to resort to sharing the instrument with another person.
If you want to avoid the share-with-another-person situation but DON’T own the instrument, you can contact one of us to seek help! We’ll try our very best to do help :)

Hi guys! There's CF tomorrow by the way. Sorry I forgot about this while updating about the carnival thing yesterday.

Anywaay, yes, there's CF tomorrow ( and next week as well!) :) I know many of you guys might be wondering why we have CF this week especially since Encik K announced during assembly that this week is an academic week so let me tell you guys why.

Remember last month when we celebrated teacher's day? Yeah, the 14 of May. We were supposed to have CF then but didn't manage to so it got postponed to this week instead :)

CF this week+CF next week = CF for two weeks in a row = double yay! :)

Go Green Run Carnival

Hello CFers! CF is getting down and dirty with the aftermath of the Go Green Run Carnival this saturday! And if you missed the bus during the holidays when we came back and blessed our school with a touch of cleanliness, you wouldn't want to miss out on this!

Below are the details of our involvement :

Date : 26th June 2010

Time : 8.00am-2.00pm

Venue : School canteen and beyond

Attire : Sportswear + Revo Badge + a smile that makes young girls giggle

We're going to carry out two things on that day :

1) CF Hot Dog sale

2) CF Clean Up Crew

We can all participate in the running event first, no doubt about that. So once we're done running, gather at the CF stall at the canteen immediately to report for duty. And that's where and when the sales will take place.

Ps, you can bring an extra t-shirt to change into after we've done running. won't wanna drive our potential customers away right?

The clean up would be right after the carnival ends which is from 12.30 until 2pm. Don't forget to come prepared with your weapon of choice. (clean up crew are encouraged to bring buckets and disposable rags.) Come for the clean up okay? Remember, "Cleanliness is next to Godliness."

We've been entrusted with such a task and we should perform it to our utmost best. Let us make God proud, together, as one CF, one family of God.

Hey YOUU guys!(: This post is ALL about CF CAMP that was THREE weeks ago! Aww man that's LONG huh!? Hmm It was held on the 16th-19th of March!(: LET me tell youu what happened in CAMP! If i can remember!:/ it was to much!! Also there were EX-DJIANS who came! WONDERFUL PEOPLE like TZE LIN, KENJI, AND TIMOTHY!!(: Pn. Saik was an awesome teacher adviser!(:

Well the most memorable things i can remember are:

The sessions + workshops by SU!(:
Pastor Andy is such an annointed pastor!(: NOT FORGETTING WITH A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR! I know that he DID touch ALL 150 of us campers! With his oh so awesome sessions bout the boy who had two loaves of bread and fish to feed 5000 men NOT including the women and children! But with miracle there were LEFTOVERS! WOW HUH!? And his most memorable workshop bout BOY GIRL RELATIONSHIP(BGR)! :D He made such an awesome point on WHY WE SHOULD NOT HAVE PRE-MARITAL SEX!(: The SU's workshop was on QUIET TIME!(: Reaallly struck me to do it CONSISTENTLY!(:

Events and Games!(:
~Talentime was AWESOME!x) Really CREATIVE!(: Daniel Ong and Andrea Prischa won BEST ACTOR AND ACTRESS AWARD!(: Team Sapphire won BEST SKIT!!(:

~Special Night was exceptionally fun with ALL OUT OUTFITS!(: Korean exchange students, Adam Lambert, Nerds, Art Club, Bohemian 70's style and many MORE EXCEPTIONALLY FASCINATING OUTFITS!(:

~Night Court was all out for JUSTICE but not enough to satisfy ALL of us! Well.. PRANKS that can not be forgotten but were FORGIVEN!x) WE ALL HAD OUR LAUGHS DIDN'T WE!?!(:

~Games were REALLY FUN TO ME!(: To be honest EVERY camp i go to i wont really look forward to games cause i had no mood for it but when i get into the action i LOVE IT!x) Games which were done by Daniel Ong and Rayshell were REALLY CREATIVE but some were quite dangerous!x) But NO one got hurt that bad! Hello there you awesome, awesome people of CF! :) It's less than a fortnight till Christmas already! Aren't you all EXCITED?! From swaying along to delightful Christmas carols like 'The First Noel', 'Hark! Herald The Angels Sing', or maybe even my personal favourite, 'The Twelve Days Of Christmas' :D, to emptying your wallets with Christmas shopping, I'm sure all of you are very excited indeed for Christmas! :)

Anywayyy, just like every other year, SMKDJCF would be having a Christmas party and ALL OF YOU are invited! :) *CF-ers and ex-CF-ers applaud and cheer* (yes, you should really be THAT excited, cos' I certainly am! :D) Well, most of the details are already in the previous post that Miss Heidy Quah posted up on this blog, but to make things easier for you all, I'll just re-post all the details thoroughly, from when the green bean was still a seed, until it grew into a pretty red bean plant! (It was a very special tree, okay! :D) Okay,YOU SHALL NOW READ FROM QUESTION 1 TO 10! :) It's a MUST! :D

1. WHERE WILL THIS CF CHRISTMAS PARTY BE HELD?
It will be held in the Aman Suria Clubhouse. It's located in the Aman Suria Damansara Residence which is near Dataran Prima and Sunway Mas Commercial Centre.

2. WHEN IS THIS CF CHRISTMAS PARTY? OH, AND WHAT TIME?
It's on the 21st of December (yes, 2009 :P), which is a Monday! It starts around 6.30 pm and ends at 10 pm. Please do come on time!

3. OH NO, ALL COLOURS LOOK SO GOOD ON ME! WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? O_O OH, AND THIS SANTA CLAUS HAT LOOKS SO CUTE ON ME LA, CAN I WEAR IT, PRETTY PLEASE?
*cough* (hopefully no one would ask such a perasan question like that :P HAHA) Well, we just need you all to dress decently and wear either RED, YELLOW, GREEN or WHITE. If you have a Christmas headgear such as a Santa Claus hat or the reindeer thingy, don't hesitate to wear it! You can even put on a Santa beard; we wouldn't mind and would even tug at it to see if it's real! :D (Okay, I was kidding about that one, hehe)

4. OKAY, SO THE PARTY IS AT THE AMAN SURIA CLUBHOUSE. OH, I KNOW WHERE THAT IS! OH WAIT, I DON'T! HOW DO I GET THERE?
AHAH! I knew this question would come! (wow, I feel so SS, predicting my own questions o_o) Anyway, to those of you who aren't familiar with where Aman Suria Damansara is, here's a map indicating how to get there from our school, SMKDJ! (the UPPER placemark is SMKDJ and the LOWER one's the Aman Suria Clubhouse, 1/46)

That map above is for those of you who would be using the Bandar Utama highway, which would be a shorter journey if it's not jammed. However, if you're heading from the LDP highway, you can refer to this map instead :) (the LOWER placemark indicates The Kelana Jaya Rapid KL LRT Station, where else the UPPER placemark represents the Aman Suria Clubhouse)

Well, I really really hope that you all understand these maps. If not, you can always give me, (Alycia Tan) a call, or text me to ask for directions. Honestly, I'm not that good with directions, especially if you're sesat-ed somewhere far off from the destination, so you'll probably have to speak to my mom if I'm not able to help you, but no worries, she's a cool mom :D
Anyways, when you're at the guardhouse, just tell the guards that you are attending the Christmas Party at the clubhouse, hosted by Miss Alycia Tan. After you've passed through the guardhouse, just keep left and follow the main road, until you see the club house a short distance away on your right. There will probably be lots of people there, and ushers too, hopefully :) So don't worry, the clubhouse is hard to miss! :)

5. OOOH, SO IT'S AT A CLUBHOUSE EH? SO WOULD WE BE ALLOWED TO TAKE A SWIM OR MAYBE JUST A DIP IN THE POOL? *NUDGENUDGEWINKWINK*
I'm really sorry to be a killjoy but, nope, swimming/jumping into/pushing each other into/splashing pool water at one another/dipping your legs into the pool are strictly NOT allowed, as only residents are allowed to swim in the pool. If anyone does any of those, it could land my parents who booked the clubhouse into some trouble, so to be safe, everyone should keep clear from the pool side. I really ask for everyone's cooperation in this. I'm sorry, but hey, we don't need the swimming pool to have fun, right!! :)

6. SINCE CANNOT SWIM, THEN WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO THERE FOR 3 1/2 HOURS?
Oh, I'm telling you, FORGET ABOUT ALL THAT CHLORINE IN THE SWIMMING POOL! We are guaranteed to have a 'beawesome' time, yes, even without a single percent of swimming in the agenda! This Christmas party would be a great time of fun, food and fellowship! Of course, it wouldn't be fully complete without CHRISTMAS CAROLING! :)

7. WAIT, DID YOU SAY.. FOOD?
Yes, FOOD! It'll be a pot bless, so if anyone is interested to bring food, please do not hesitate to do so. You can always contact us through the CF blog (the chatbox) or you can always call/text/email either one of the committee members to tell us what food you intend to contribute to the party :) You can leave a comment here as well! We would really appreciate this from the bottom of our hearts, as we really have to ensure that everyone has enough to eat :)

8. WHEN YOU SAID EVERYONE IS INVITED, DO YOU REALLY MEAN EVERYONE?
Now, this is the part where you really have to pay attention :), although priority is given to the CFers and ex-CFers, we would like to share this Christmas with all our friends. And in order for everyone to have a good time at the party, we the committee has decided to adopt a RSVP system (as in inform us before hand whether you will be coming or not, as well as the people you will be bringing, *that is IF you are bringing anyone :)*). YES YES YES! :D PLEASE BRING A SMALL GIFT FOR THE GIFT EXCHANGE! :) It can be anything simple, eg. a snow globe, a purse, a teddy bear, or even FACIAL CREAM! (Even if a guy gets that gift, it would still be good use to him you know! *wink wink*) :') It's up to you, really, but just make sure you bring something, as we want to ensure that nobody goes home empty-handed! :)
